Tracks like "Biko," inspired by the death of anti-apartheid activist Steve Biko, and "Don't Give Up," which speaks to the struggles of everyday people, have become anthems of hope and resilience.

But Gabriel's impact extends far beyond the recording studio. He has consistently used his platform to advocate for positive change. In 1986, he co-founded the human rights organization Witness, which uses video technology to document human rights abuses and promote accountability. Through Witness, Gabriel has empowered countless individuals to share their stories and shed light on injustice.

Furthermore, Gabriel's commitment to environmental causes is evident in his involvement with initiatives such as The Elders and the Rainforest Foundation. As a member of The Elders, a group of global leaders working for peace and human rights, Gabriel has lent his voice to tackle pressing issues facing our world. In collaboration with the Rainforest Foundation, he has fought to protect rainforests and the rights of indigenous peoples.

Gabriel's humanitarian efforts have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Man of Peace Award from the Nobel Peace Laureates in 2006.
