John King
John King is an American journalist and CNN's chief national correspondent, based in Washington, D.C. He is best known for analysing election results county by county on the network's touch-screen "Magic Wall".
A Boston native and graduate of the University of Rhode Island, King joined the Associated Press in 1985 and became one of its leading political reporters.
He moved to CNN in 1997 and served as its senior White House correspondent from 1999 to 2005. He later anchored his own programmes, including John King, USA and the Sunday politics show Inside Politics, and has been a central part of CNN's election night coverage for many years.
In October 2021 King revealed on air that he has multiple sclerosis, speaking about it to explain why vaccination mattered to people with weakened immune systems.
